Calling all Artists!
If you have some artwork that you would like to exhibit, then we would love to hear from you!
We are a group of ‘plein air’ painters who have come together to paint as a direct result of the Covid 19 Pandemic. Originally members of the Grafham and Ellington Art Group, we encouraged outdoor painting as soon as the Government Guidelines allowed us to. A group of six or in pairs met weekly and felt the huge benefits on our wellbeing of being outdoors, appreciating the local environment and feeding our creative needs. As the weather deteriorated, we became more creative and invested in individual camping ‘art’ pods which served as dry warmer shelters from the elements, hence our name ‘Pod Painters’. Through the outdoor painting we have produced a large body of work covering local areas. In addition to the local outdoor painting, we paint landscapes and seascapes from other places we have visited as individuals. Also, within the group some members enjoy painting portraits, townscapes and animals. The range of mediums used by the artists includes oils, acrylics, pastels, charcoal, coloured pencils and watercolour.
This has resulted in a plethora of amazing artworks, a sample of which is exhibited here, and we go from strength to strength as an art co-operative who are prepared to honestly critique each other’s work, but with support and advice and friendship alongside.
