Progressive Lino Printing Workshop - 2 week course on 6th & 13th November

Taking place on 2 consecutive Saturday mornings in November (6th & 13th).

Running on from the Beginners Lino Printing Workshops, on the first Saturday you will be

introduced to additional techniques to prepare the lino for printing including taking a more

in depth look at what makes a suitable design, how you go about creating it with suitable

and interesting mark making, and include how to deal with other techniques such as

design reversal. You will be provided with lino and tools to create a new design of your

choice to practice these new techniques.

These informal sessions run over two consecutive Saturday mornings. They will give you

the chance to continue learning more techniques about this original and exciting print

process as well as building knowledge of a new skill. Depending on the complexity of your

design some work may need to be carried out at home between sessions.

On the second Saturday you will have the opportunity to print your new design in a variety

of ways that will be fun, exciting and thought provoking! In addition you will be shown the

technique of over printing and the effects this creates and how to incorporate it into your

new design.

These workshops are suitable for those who have already completed the Beginners Lino

Printing workshops at Art & Soul and who want to go a stage further to build on their initial

experience and have some more creative fun!

The workshops are also suitable for those who already have a little experience of lino

printing and would like an opportunity to take it to the next level and for those who would

like some open access time but with tutor guidance.

The workshops continue to be run under the general Government Covid guidelines.

Although the wearing of masks is now optional it is requested that you bring a mask with

you since this is a public venue. Your tutor will continue to wear a mask. Desks are placed

2 metres apart and each student has their own individual set of materials to minimise the

sharing of tools. There is hand sanitiser available throughout the venue.
