Intermediate Lino Printing Workshops - 2 week course

Taking place on 2 consecutive Saturday mornings on 29th January and 5th February 2022.

These two workshops will focus on how to create multi coloured lino prints. Exploring how

the addition of an extra block can increase the colour possibilities by over printing.

Run over two consecutive Saturdays these workshops are for those who have already

attended the Beginners Lino Printing Workshops at Art & Soul and for those who already

have some experience of Lino Printing and want a few hours of creative freedom in a

happy artistic environment!

The first Saturday will focus on the stages of creating your own suitable design for a two

block lino print. This will include how to effectively plan your design before you cut and

then how to cut each block for printing so that a cohesive outcome is achieved. Depending

on the complexity of your design some work may need to be carried out at home between

sessions.

The second Saturday will focus on the production process of your own design as a multi

coloured print including how to print your design in different ways to achieve interesting

creative results. This will include the use of ink extender as a modifier to the design.

Throughout these two workshops a wealth of creative & technical data will be given to

inform you and tickle your artistic taste buds, and help you to develop a collection of

personal and unique artwork you’re inspired by!

The workshops continue to be run under the general Government Covid guidelines.

Although the wearing of masks is now optional it is requested that you bring a mask with

you since this is a public venue. Your tutor will continue to wear a mask. Desks are placed

2 metres apart and each student has their own individual set of materials to minimise the

sharing of tools. There is hand sanitiser available throughout the venue.
