A bit about Astrig...

 

I am currently using mixed media; collage, pastels, inks, acrylics, in my life drawing, landscapes and in abstracts. I enjoy experimenting with new materials. I work in pastels and charcoal on painted papers. I prefer to work quickly and directly from my subject matter.

 

Originally I studied Ceramics at the Central School of Art and Design gaining a BA Hons Degree. After leaving art college I set up  my own ceramic studio for some years before I decided to change career. I worked as a freelance painter and art finisher in the film industry, working on many film productions in the Creature Effects and Prosthetic Make up Departments.

 

Since leaving the film industry I have been able to concentrate on my own work again rediscovering my love of colour and drawing. Last year I became a member of the Cambridge Drawing Society.
